  Slavonski Brod  
The City of Slavonski Brod, the sixth city in Republic of Croatia by size has 64.612 inhabitants. It is situated between the rivers Sava and Dilja and surfaces 54,45 square kilometres. It is a very old settlement. 2000 years ago, the Roman Marsonia was on its place. The important geographical position significantly influences its development and economy.

1) The most important road, the highway Zagreb - Lipovac that connects the European countries with Near East and further, goes through Slavonski Brod, while a construction is planned of an international highway E-73 Budapest - Beli Manastir - Osijek - Slavonski Brod - neighbouring Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina ending in Ploče.

2) A railway line that connects Western Europe with East significantly determines the city's development both from spatial and economic point of view.

Povećano 3) The pipeline JANAF goes through the city and transfers raw oil from the Adriatic Sea to certain places in our and in the neighbouring countries where it is being processed. We also have the pipeline Opatovac - Slavonski Brod that used to supply the oil refinery in neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bosanski Brod).

4) The city is connected with the pipelines Našice - Bokšić, Lug - Slavonski Brod, which supplies the city with natural earth gas. A construction of a pipeline Kutina - Slavonski Brod - Vukovar is also being planned which will certainly have positive impact on the development of the city.
How to arive?
All international roads linking Western Europe with Near East and Eastern Europe with Adriatic Coast lead through Slavonski Brod, the capital of Brodsko posavska County. This Croatian town is located on the frontier between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the banks of river Sava in the wealthy, fertile and opulent Croatian province of Slavonia.
5) With the digging of the channel Vukovar - Šamac, the river Sava acquires greater importance in the traffic connection of Europe and the Adriatic Sea. Povećano As it has been already stated in the introduction, the city is geographically situated on important roads railway, highway, the river Sava, and it also has a sport airport. Beside all these characteristics of a traffic and transit centre, it has the characteristics of a borderline city. Precisely that fact had for its consequence the development of the city as multicultural and multiethnic centre in this part of Croatia. Povećano
The arrival of the ancestors of the present inhabitants of the city and the county enriched this city with culture, tradition, language and knowledge in certain crafts and industrial branches, which had been in the past, and they are still even today, the foundation-stone of this town's industry. Those are: wood industry, agricultural and food industry as well as communal activity.
